The Student Leadership Application is a common application for multiple open positions for the upcoming 2021 - 2022 academic year. The purpose of the common student leadership application is to to make applying for multiple positions easier for students and to help you make educated decision about which position may be the right fit for you.

FIRST YEAR STUDENT SUCCESS (FEXP) COURSE MENTOR

Position Expectations
  • Attend a weekly one-hour First Year College Success class
  • Attend monthly first year mentor meetings
  • Become familiar with the needs of new students
  • Develop trust and relationships with new students in your class
  • Be accessible and willing to assist with informational needs of students
  • Plan out-of-class activities, if possible
  • Serve as an academic and social role model
  • Communicate accurate and timely information to students about academic and student services resources
  • Co-coordinate the completion of the students' culminating Service Project

Eligibility 
  • 2.50 cumulative GPA or higher.  GPA will be verified
  • Full-time undergraduate student at Holy Family
  • Utilize non-biased representation of the University
  • Exhibit a positive and enthusiastic attitude, as well as attention to detail, friendliness and honesty
  • Exhibit the ability to work effectively with a faculty/staff teaching partner, as well as a cohort of new students
  • Possess a strong interest and desire to help new students make a positive transition to Holy Family
 
Compensation
  • $150 stipend will be added to your Student ID on December 10, 2021
  • Can be used in the Bookstore, On-Campus Dining, and Vending Machines
  • Graduating students are eligible for a check payment instead of the Student ID card stipend. Please indicate in your application if you are a graduating student.
ORIENTATION CO-DIRECTOR

Position Expectations
  • Complete 6-10 Office Hours per week, hours are flexible
  • Assist with Orientation Leader Training by running group development and bonding activities
  • Serve as a role-model for other Orientation Leaders Communicate with incoming first year and transfer students and their families through email and over the phone
  • Meet all expectations of an Orientation Leader
  • Summer live-on option depending on COVID-19

Eligibility 
  • Full-time undergraduate student at Holy Family in any academic class or major
  • Experience as an Orientation Leader preferred but not required
  • Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University
  • May take classes and/or hold another job
  • Can be excused from some expectations due to class ONLY
  • Exhibit a positive and enthusiastic attitude, as well as attention to detail, friendliness and honesty
  • Possess a strong interest and desire to help new students make a positive transition to Holy Family

Compensation

ORIENTATION LEADER

Orientation Leader Expectations
  • Attend Orientation Leader Training
  • Serve as a role-model for incoming students
  • Be willing to learn and commit to memory information about campus resources and the student experience
  • No previous experience required

Orientation Leader Eligibility 
  • Full-time undergraduate student at Holy Family in any academic class or major
  • Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University
  • Can be excused from some expectations due to class ONLY
  • Exhibit a positive and enthusiastic attitude, as well as attention to detail, friendliness and honesty
  • Possess a strong interest and desire to help new students make a positive transition to Holy Family
Campus Activities Board (CAB) Director

Position Overview
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is the University's main programming board. CAB hosts a variety of events on and off campus that cover a wide range of interests: baseball, basketball, crafts, haunted houses, etc. CAB is looking to fill four (4) of their five (5) director-level positions for the 2020 - 2021 academic year. The directors will work in tangent with the CAB Executive Board. CAB Directors will have the ability to make each event that falls under their domain something of their own with the assistance of the Executive Board and advisor.

Expectations
  • Oversee one of the following: CAB Risk Management, Internal Events, External Events, or Intramural Events.
  • Plan, set up, and oversee all events that fall under your domain.
  • Work in conjunction with the Executive Board Members to ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible.
  • Directly influence events that happen on campus.

Eligibility 
  • All Members shall attend as many meetings and events as possible.
  • All CAB members must work an event every semester.
  • Activity participate in meetings by coming prepared with required materials and tasks completed.
  • Conducting at least two (2) office hours each week; this number includes time spent in meetings.
  • Directors must have a cumulative academic average of 2.75= C+ to be eligible for office.
  • Directors should have been considered an Active Member for at least one academic year prior to being elected to their position, but this is not required.
Mascot Team Member

Mascot Team Member Expectations
  • Be on time.
  • Be available and flexible to make appearances.
  • While portraying Blue, mascots must not be heard speaking.
  • The full costume and uniform must be in place at all times in public.
  • While portraying Blue at games, mascots must not interfere with the game in any way or interact with the officials. All NCAA regulations regarding mascots and game operations must be obeyed at all times.
  • Mascots must approve all props and skits with the Mascot Selection Committee.
  • The mascot needs to be at home men's and women’s basketball games along with women’s volleyball. Note: the Mascot Team collectively must make these appearances, not just one single team member.
  • Mascots are expected not to perform any material that may be unsuitable, including content that is violent or sexual in nature; no crowd-surfing.
  • Upkeep and cleanliness of costume.
  • Be independent, creative, and have strong communication skills with teammates and Committee.
  • And most importantly, continued academic success.

Mascot Team Member Eligibility 
  • Be presently enrolled as a full-time student at Holy Family University, maintaining a minimum of 12 credits each semester
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 throughout mascot career. Provide proof of medical insurance during interviews
  • Provide a current physical, good for the whole year, before starting appearances. Physical must be renewed annually through the completion of the HFU Health Packet.
  • Willing to sign the Club Sports hold harmless waiver and must have on file with the SEO prior to participation in practice or any appearances.
ACE Team Member
 

Job Description:
An ACE Team member helps to facilitate the online presence of the Civic Engagement Initiatives of Holy Family university. Using social media outlets such as Twitter and Instagram, the Ambassador of Civic Engagement serves as an online representative of Holy Family University and its services, programs, and events. The Ambassador of Civic Engagement will liaise on social media accounts with staff, students and the wider campus community to answer questions, share information and guide other students through their civic duties. 

 

ACE Team Responsibilities:

  • Familiarizing yourself with local, state, and federal regulations surrounding voting rights, jury duty, and poll worker registration.
  • Working closely with Student Engagement Office staff to create campaigns and strategies.
  • Educating peers and HFU Community members about their rights when it comes to voting.
  • Creating social media content in order to drive awareness to the University’s campaigns including, but not limited to voter rights, jury duty, poll workers, and community service initiatives.
  • Building rapport with peers and offices on campus. 
  • Brainstorming ideas and participating in training and workshops.
  • Maintaining a positive image of the ACE Team at all times.
  • Responsibilities will adapt and grow over time as team members identify additional civic responsibilities on which they wish to educate the HFU community.

Academics and Time Commitment
The ACE Team is made up of students and are expected to act as a student first and to model positive academic habits and maintain a strong GPA throughout the duration as a member of the ACE Team. This position is a volunteer position, which means that, at this time, there will be no payment and should not interfere with academic performance.
